Cocktails - Rating Scale
This is how I rate cocktails. Presented is the new scale with reference to equivalent old scale values.
The new scale is out of 10, however its possible for a drink to score as a zero or negative value, and also, theoretically to score beyond a 10.
The Cocktail Rating Scale:

| 0 | Perhaps possible to salvage with manipulation of ingredients ( check - ) | ||
| 1 | Your basic drinkable cocktail, worth making again. ( check ) | ||
| 2 | A good cocktail, offering some variety. ( check + ) | ||
| 3 | Perched between the 2 and the 4, this is a tasty cocktail. ( check + + ) | ||
| 4 | A fine cocktail. ( check + + + ) | ||
| 5 | An excellent cocktail, worthy of your guests ( check * ) | ||
| 6 | An excellent cocktail, worthy of your good friends ( check * + ) | ||
| 7 | A cocktail that will make you new friends ( check * + + ) | ||
| 8 | An excellent cocktail, suitable for serving visiting royalty ( check * + + + ) | ||
| 9 | Ambrosia of the Gods, worthy of a killer hangover, but not recommended lest you lose the desire to have another ( check * * ) | ||
| 10 | Mythical drink, as yet undiscovered. | ||
| 11+ | Indescribable but theoretically possible, like a frictionless surface, or a point mass. |
